Training
A pilot training course has been delivered to 10 invited participants for the newly developed Safer Recruitment. The feedback from the session will enable the fine tuning of the delivery before its formal launch in the New Year. There are a few places available on the 25th February at LCAD in Liverpool or over two evenings, 20th & 27th February at CDVA Sandbach. There is the opportunity to take the accreditation for this course at the end of the session. The accreditation is through Educare and the certificates are NSPCC.
Projects
Alternative Curriculum Inclusion Projects YFTL are working with young people from seven schools on the Wirral for the second year. The young people who attended last years Inclusion Project were invited along to a celebration event on the 19th October 2007 to mark their successful achievement of the Youth Challenge Award. The event was part of Wirral Inclusion Week and the Youth Challenge Awards were presented to the young people by Peter Fahy, the Chief Constable of Cheshire. The following quote is from the Chief Constable of Cheshire about the Inclusion projects YFTL have been delivering on the Wirral.

“All the research shows that keeping young people in education or training when they are going through difficult times is one of the best things we can do. This is an outstanding project where small achievements can make a serious difference to self esteem and an individuals life chances"
- Peter Fahy Chief Constable
