ABC

Youth Work Qualifications
YFTL has been awarded ABC accreditation and will soon be able to offer a progression of accredited training in Youth Work. These will include Vocational Related Qualifications (VRQs) at levels 1, 2, and 3 and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) at level 2 and 3

YFTL has been invited to participate in Wirral’s Inclusion Week 15—19 October.  An exhibition documenting the Solar School projects with young people at risk of exclusion will be featured at the event.  The 17 young people who have achieved awards through the project will receive them at a special event staged at the end of Inclusion Week.

Research

National Research Project on behalf of CWDC

CWDC
YFTL is currently engaged in a research project into the skills and training needs of VCS organisations to enable them in commissioning and contracting for the delivery of services to children and young people, on behalf of CWDC. This has involved a literature review into the current thinking around commissioning with initial learning from the review highlighted. The literature review was used as an evidence base to create a questionnaire and an evaluation tool for the skills and knowledge needs of VCS organisations to become commission ready. The questionnaire was used to undertake telephone interviews with over 120 voluntary groups, and adapted to undertake one to one interviews with 20 commissioners. A final report will be produced in July to outline the findings from the research and make recommendations for the development of a training and support programme. The findings of the report will be made public soon. Watch for details on YFTL’s website. www.yftl.co.uk

Promotional material from Social Enterprise

Following a successful bid from Cheshire & Warrington Social Enterprise, two stylish rollup promotional stands give YFTL a strong brand image.

MNC Design + Print based in Winsford Cheshire were commissioned by C&WSE to create a design for the rollups. They have translated the design ideas generated from YFTL into eye-catching displays; the rollups will be put to good use to promote the services at exhibitions and training sessions.
